Flight #100

23 November 2023 • Andy Jackson Training Hill • Hang I - Beginner

Flew my own Falcon 195 off the 75' training hill at Andy Jackson and did great in little to no wind! It was blowing maybe 2mph to 6mph. I had 4 launches and landings. The first flight was really good. Excellent launch and landing. The second launch I had a big gust of wind and only took about 3 or 4 steps to get in the air. The second landing was bad ans I tried to roll out too low and I was coming in really fast. I actually did a kneeslide on my kneepads on that second landing, simply because I was too low to land on my feet and scared to flare that fast. My third flight, my launch was weird. I kind of broke my concentration and ran further than I wanted, because I wasn't running hard enough. The third landing was very sketchy too. Again, I rounded out too late, came in really fast, and had to run like hell to prevent wacking. My harness strap actually ended up in front of my head! My fourth flight went quite nicely. The launch was good and I decided to come in slow, like I'm used to doing, and the landing was good too, with only a few easy running steps. Erika Klein was there and shot some video for me. She was impressed I walked the glider up the hill 4 times. I now have around 19 flights from the 75' Andy Jackson training hill.
