Flight #103

18 December 2023 • Soboba Air Park Training Hill • Hang I - Beginner

Flew my own Falcon 195 off the 45' training hill at Soboba Flight Park for the first time and did great in 0mph wind. I had 4 launches and landings. All 4 flights were good. I worked on maintaining the bottle grip off launch. I ran a little more than I wanted on the third and fourth launches, but still got airborne smoothly. The first 2 flights were really excellent. All landings were good, but the first one was best, as I made sure to look way out at a target on the end of the field and I did a smooth touch-and-go. I think I had a slight 2mph wind on the first 2 launches and a 0mph wind on the second two launches, and that is why getting airborne became more difficult. I also looked down on the third and fourth launch, instead of staying focused on my horizon target. I think I may have lowered the nose on the third and fourth flights too, because I remember the glider lifting, but I still saw the nose - I should only see the nose before the glider starts to lift. I now have 4 total flights from the 45' Soboba Flight Park training hill. That makes about 250+ foot launch flights in total.
