Flight #107

14 January 2024 • Andy Jackson Training Hill • Hang I - Beginner

Flew the Condor 330 off the 120' training hill at Andy Jackson and did great in 2mph to 6mph wind. I was very happy and excited, since I've been nervous and hesitant to fly from the 120' hill. The reason I was scared is because the hill is steeper than anything I've launched, plus it is only about 20' to 30' long, before it has about a 20' drop to the bushes. So, you MUST get into the air. But I did get in the air, very easily, on every flight. In fact, by the end, I tried to stay on the ground a little longer on purpose, which I never would have had the courage to do at the start. My landings were all really nice too. I didn't come down to hard and injure my foot, as I have done many times on my flights there. I almost flared successfully, but it's pretty difficult in a glider as big as the Condor. In all, I had 10 launches and landings. Made it to the grass on all flights. I now have around 9 flights from the 120' Andy Jackson training hill and one extra on the 75' hill. That gives me a total of about 261+ foot launch flights.
