Flight #123

19 June 2024 • Andy Jackson Training Hill • Hang I - Beginner

Flew my own Falcon 195 off the 120' training hill at Andy Jackson 3 times and did great in 6mph wind. I now have around 26 flights from the 120' Andy Jackson training hill. That makes about 347+ foot launch flights in total. This was my very first flight off the 120' since the glider was repaired after the car accident on 11 April 2024. The Windsports crew was there and Micah drove the gator up the hill for me. I forgot my camera on the first flight, but I attached it for the second and third flight. This was my first time flying my GreyFit Cocoon harness with the LARA Gold parachute installed. All 3 flights went totally fine. The wind was quite switchy and turbulent as I was flying around 4pm. When a good cycle would blow up the hill, you only had about 30 seconds to launch before the winds would switch again. My first flight was great. The second was a little bumpy. The third was incredibly sketchy and I got blown to the east by the turbulence and crosswinds. I realized I couldn't turn because I let the nose pop up in the turbulence and I was going too slow. But, I correct it, pulled in, regained control, and landed well. I was a little unbalanced because I think my hand positions were off. But overall, a decent flight and safe landing. As the Blue Angels say, "Good jet."
