Flight #125

30 June 2024 • Marshall Peak • Hang I - Beginner

My third mountain solo in my Wills Wing Falcon 195 off Marshall Peak! That gives me a total of about 358+ foot launch flights in total. For some reason, I was really nervous about this flight, but it ended up being the best flight I've ever had from Marshall. My launch, flight, and landing were all great. Dan said my approach was "perfect" and I almost never hear him compliment anyone. This was my first mountain flight since the leading edge was repaired after the car accident. The only bad thing about this flight was that I was unable to get into my cocoon harness. Therefore, I just flew upright the whole time. I did put my hand on the basetube, but I never went prone. Watching the video back, I can see I'm hanging so low, there is no way I could possibly get in. The boot is literally at my knees - nowhere near my feet. If I shorten the leg loops, the boot is closer to my feet, but then the legloops are really painful. This was my last flight to qualify for my renewed H2 rating and my signoff to fly the Andy Jackson launches.
