Flight #127

14 July 2024 • Dockweiler • Hang II - Novice

My 36th day of flying at Dockweiler. Had around 7 flights. That puts me at about 342+ flights at the beach. That makes about 369+ foot launch flights in total. The winds were around 4mph to 6mph all day. I only came to the beach this day to test my cocoon harness with some new settings. I tightened my legloops as tight as possible and shortened my shoulder straps by about 5" or so, to make sure everything was really tight and nothing was going to sag or loosen as I launched. I flew the Windsports Falcon I and it was awkward. I actually launched, flew and landed really well, but it felt super weird. The strap tightened very quickly and the angle was weird, since my weight is really lifting from my hips instead of my shoulders. Even fellow pilots said my flights looked really good and watching some video, they seemed okay. Only about the last 2 flights started to feel a bit more "normal" at all.
