Flight #128

28 July 2024 • Dockweiler • Hang II - Novice

My 37th day of flying at Dockweiler. Had around 5 flights. That puts me at about 347+ flights at the beach. That makes about 374+ foot launch flights in total. The winds were around 4mph to 6mph all day. Decided to try my GreyFit cocoon harness with my EZ2 and it was a disaster again. I crashed every time I tried to launch, because the legloops fell around my thighs from the harness being so loose. As the glider began to lift me, the loops started to bind my legs and I couldn't run. I reduced the length of the hang loop to about 2 inches and had the legstraps as tight as possible and it still wasn't working. I don't know what more to try. Everything is tight, but the harness still sags and falls. If I tighten the shoulder straps anymore, it is too tight to put the harness on, but things still droop and sag anyway. The GreyFit harness fits great when I'm lying prone, but it's terrible to run or launch with. I'm really upset and disappointed with how badly a cocoon harness fits. When I switched back to the training harness, I could launch, land and fly with no problem, even in crosswinds. The EZ2 flies amazingly well too.
