Flight #138

8 February 2025 • Dockweiler • Hang II - Novice

My 46th day of flying at Dockweiler. Had around 10 flights. That puts me at about 411+ flights at the beach. That makes about 438+ foot launch flights in total. Extremely low wind day. The highest wind speed was about 8mph but it averaged around 5mph. All of my flights were pretty good. Solid launches. Solid landings. Nice and smooth. I struggled a little on landing with low airspeed in light crosswinds, but it wasn't too bad. So long as I kept my speed up and pulled in after going to trim, I was able to go fast enough to maintain control. This was the longest period of time I had gone without flying since I began footlaunching, so I was really happy and excited to have all of my flights go really great. It gave me a lot of confidence that I can maintain my skills after a lapse in flying. Of course, I went for 6 to 7 months between flights in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and maintained my skills then too.
