Flight #54
30 May 1999 • Webberville, MI • Hang II - Novice
Had my first weak-link break. The wind was very gusty. I took off and a thermal came off as soon as I launched. The tug flew up and I was still on the ground. I let go of the cart and I was way too low. As I tried to climb up to the tug, the glider just stalled and mushed and the link popped. I immediately pulled in and the wing tipped to the right. I spun right, trying to level out and pick up some speed and I came down nice and smooth.
