Flight #67
23 April 2023 • Crestline, CA • Hang 0 - Student
My first flight in 22 years. Did a tandem with Dan DeWeese at Crestline. The ridge lift and thermals were very strong. Our launch was so fast it scared the daylights out of me. We must have gained 30 to 40 feet in 3 seconds. Once flying it was wonderful. The turbulence made me nervous and the slow maneuverability of the tandem was often difficult to control. But I still felt comfortable controlling the glider. We actually did a tandem foot landing which I have never even seen before. That was a little intimidating too, but we landed great. Overall, an incredible and wonderful mountain flight.
