Flight #73

25 May 2023 • Dockweiler • Hang 0 - Student

Did another 10 flights at Dockweiler this day! That gives me around 30 foot launches in the last few weeks. Most people need about 50 to 100 before soloing. One of John Heiney's students did about 200 training hill launches. So, I'm feeling good at this point. Trained with Andy Beem at Windsports. My two biggest problems are not pulling in aggressively enough and not controlling the glider on launch. But, I feel I improved this day. I'm still not great at those skills, but I am getting better. One great tip Andy gave was, in ground handing, to "point the nose at the high wing." Brilliant! That one simple statement clicked with me and helped immensely in my ground handling and also applies to launch.
