Flight #77
10 June 2023 • Dockweiler • Hang 0 - Student
My seventh day of flying at Dockweiler and my first flights on the Falcon 2 195. Adam Z. Smith and Terry Heatlie had a big class of students and Terry said my first flight was "as perfect as he could expect." Nice compliment! I was nervous to launch, since winds were very light, only about 6MPH all day, and I was in a much smaller glider. It definitely took a bit more effort, and a longer run, to get the 195 in the air with only 6MPH winds, but she still flew. I had 2 or 3 excellent flights. The rest, I started to drift a bit or I stayed really low. The winds were slow, but they were very switchy and I kept getting weird crosswinds that changed very rapidly. I only flew about 2 hours, because I got so tired carrying the glider up the hill. The winds were so low, I was never able to kite it once. Even at the top of the hill, I still had to carry it. So, I got exhausted really fast. Still had more than 10 flights though. I'd guess maybe 12. That puts me at about 70+ flights at the beach.
