Picked up my first hang glider the day before! My twelfth day of flying at Dockweiler and my sixth flights on the rental Falcon 2 195. Excellent day. Still had around 10 to 12 flights. That puts me at about 120+ flights at the beach. Had one really awful launch, but managed to salvage it at the last second. The winds were the strongest I've experienced at the beach and extremely crossed and switching. Very difficult to ground-handle the glider. But, one of the Windsports instructors, Cyndia Klein, was struggling as much as myself, and she has 15 years of experience. However, Bob had me step back from the edge of the hill and that helped immensely. So, I learned, moving forward and back can help find the proper point to launch.
