Flight #84
23 July 2023 • Dockweiler • Hang I - Beginner
My fourteenth day of flying at Dockweiler and my eighth flights on the rental Falcon 2 195. Excellent day. Still had around 10 flights. That puts me at about 140+ flights at the beach. The day began with an offshore wind and it looked like we couldn't fly. I injured my right middle finger with some tingly never-damage from pulling back so hard on the haulback for the Condor 330. A few mistakes I was making on my launches were: A) not running fast enough in low wind. B) Forgetting to "walk, jog, run" and was just doing "run". C) I was not pulling the nose darn hard enough in strong crosswinds. Have to remember that - in strong crosswinds, keep the nose down and walk slowly, then jog lightly, then run. And only ease out the nose during the run. That helps control the wings, so they don't lift unexpectedly.
