Flight #93
7 October 2023 • Soboba Flight Park • Hang I - Beginner
Worked on ground handing at Soboba Flight Park. I shot some video and realized why I've been struggling to keep my wings level in low-wind launches. I'm allowing the nose to pop up. When that happens, it feels like the glider is lifting. In fact, the glider is simply popping up into a stall, the rolling to one side or the other. Therefore, my issue isn't keeping the wings level. My issue is maintaining my angle of attack, because if I lose my angle of attack, the glider mushes and stalls and rolls. My unbalanced wings are the not the cause of my problem. Unbalanced wings are a symptom of a bad angle of attack which throws the wing into a stall.
